Parents are invited to an important and exciting meeting focused on scheduling and the next steps for our students’ futures. We are thrilled to welcome Roger Griffith and Marsha Hicks from New River Community and Technical College, who will share valuable information about funding opportunities, career and college pathways, and a new program of study designed specifically for our students.

This is truly an exciting time for our community as we work together to build a strong framework of opportunities—ensuring that every student, no matter their chosen path, is supported and prepared for success in both college and career readiness. We look forward to partnering with families as we open doors and expand possibilities for our students’ futures.

🎉 Celebrating All of Our Regional Math Field Day Participants! 🎉

We are so proud of every student who represented our schools at the Regional Elementary/Middle (Including 9th Grade) Math Field Day. Students from all of our schools came together to take on a challenging and highly competitive event that showcased their problem-solving skills, perseverance, and passion for math. 🧠📐

The competition was fierce, with many students separated by just a single point in the final standings—proof of the incredible depth of talent across our region. Every participant should be applauded for the effort, focus, and determination they brought to the day.

A special acknowledgment goes to Eli, Joseph, and Noah, who were selected as alternates for the Statewide Competition!

👏 Congratulations to every student, coach, teacher and school involved! 👏

Earlier today at Pocahontas County High School, a belt on a compressor heating unit in the band room malfunctioned. As a precaution, the school initiated a fire safety drill and evacuated students to the auditorium while the fire department was contacted. The fire department has since assessed the situation and confirmed that there is no ongoing risk. All students have safely returned to their classrooms, and normal operations have resumed. At this time, the school’s phone system is temporarily down but is expected to be restored to full service shortly. Thank you
