This is a reminder that parent teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 23 from 10:30 to 6:30. Before or after you conference with your child's teacher, please be stop by the Communities in Schools office, located near the school library to visit Marsha Beverage, our Communities in Schools Site Coordinator. Mrs. Beverage will be teaching parents some simple math games that will help their child retain basic math skills. She will also be recommending some great read aloud books for parents to share with their children. All parents that stop by will be eligible to enter their children into a drawing for some great prizes, such as a Yeti cup, a diamond art set and more.

We have a busy week ahead! The county literature fair is Monday, October 14 at PCHS. Permission forms should be in. National School Lunch Week starts Monday, with lunch at $5. Preschool and 3rd grade eat Monday (arrive by 11:30). Monday is Decades/Camo Day.
Tuesday :Tie-dye/PJs. Kindergarten/4th eat (arrive by 11:30).
Wednesday: Football vs. Petersburg (8th Grade Night). Maroon/Gold Day. 1st grade (11:30) and 5th grade (10:50).
Thursday: Sports/USA Day. 2nd grade (11:30) and Middle School (10:50).
Friday: Harvest Day. Flannel Day. Make-up lunch at 10:50 (5th-8th) and 11:30 (K-4).

Please remember that Literacy Night begins at 5:00 PM this evening. Please come check out the students' projects, get valuable resources for your students, learn about the OLWEUS program, and grab some snacks, coats, and books!
The county literature fair will be Monday, October 14 at PCHS. Students who qualified for the county fair were given permission forms. If possible, please return to the school by Friday.

We have a busy week ahead of us. The deadline to sign up for National-School Lunch week is October 7. Please signup to eat with your child. On Monday, October 7, the LSIC will meet at 3:45. On Tuesday, October 8, gifted students will travel to PCHS. On Wednesday, October 9, there is a PTO meeting at 3:45 PM. Thursday, October 10 is the GBEMS Literature Fair. Literacy night will begin at 5:00 PM. Join us to view projects, obtain reading resources, have a snack, and grab a coat! Friday, October 11 is a three-hour early dismissal.

Friday, October 4 will be the last day that spice orders are accepted. Please bring them to the office tomorrow morning.

The LSIC meeting has been rescheduled for October 7, 2024 at 3:45 PM.
